All about your kidneys

The kidneys are far more than a filter organ: they regulate water and salt balance, produce hormones, control blood pressure, and keep the acid-base balance in equilibrium. Kidney diseases often develop silently — many go unnoticed for a long time.

That is why prevention and early diagnostics are the most effective protection. Especially important if diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of kidney disease is present.

Nephrology is the field of internal medicine dealing with the kidneys and their diseases — from high blood pressure and chronic kidney failure to autoimmune diseases. The goal is always to preserve kidney function and avoid or delay dialysis.
An extracorporeal blood purification procedure: via two infusion lines, the blood is cleansed outside the body in a single-use filter system of burdening substances — inflammatory markers, environmental toxins, heavy metals, lipids — and returned. Gentle, virtually painless, and supervised by specialists.
Frequently used for chronic complaints where conventional therapies reach their limits — such as chronic exhaustion (e.g. after infections), long/post-COVID syndrome, chronic inflammatory processes, or for prevention and regeneration in the sense of longevity medicine. Whether the procedure is suitable for you is always determined individually in a medical consultation.
An established procedure for removing LDL cholesterol and lipoprotein(a) from the blood when diet and medication are insufficient. With an appropriate indication, private health insurers usually cover the costs.
No special preparations are necessary — you can eat, drink, and exercise as usual. The only requirement is the medical consultation at least 24 hours before treatment; please bring your medical records.
Dialysis only filters urinary substances. Therapeutic apheresis, by contrast, is a targeted blood wash with highly developed filters and double filtration — and unlike dialysis it does not strain the body, as the purified blood is otherwise returned unchanged.
Lipid apheresis is usually reimbursed by private insurers with a confirmed indication. Apheresis treatments for prevention and regeneration are currently considered alternative healing methods and are self-pay services. We advise you transparently before treatment begins.
